Reasons for Abnormal Oil Consumption of Excavator Engines

2022-04-21

Reasons for abnormal engine oil consumption of Liugong excavator parts

1. Excessive wear of the piston, piston ring and cylinder liner will cause the oil to enter the combustion chamber, resulting in a sharp increase in oil consumption. When the wear gap between the first air ring of the piston and the cylinder wall exceeds 20% of the normal value, the oil consumption will increase by more than 2 times.

2. The wear of connecting rod bearing bush, crankshaft bearing bush or oil pump will lead to excessive clearance between the bearing bush and the shaft diameter, which will increase the internal oil leakage, reduce the pump oil pressure, and accelerate the oil consumption.

3. When the thermal deformation of the cylinder liner exceeds a certain limit, the piston and piston ring cannot fully adapt to the deformation of the cylinder liner, and a large oil channel will appear locally, which will cause the oil to enter the combustion chamber and burn, resulting in abnormal oil consumption.

4. Diesel engine water radiator cooling fins are blocked by dust, the water pump is worn or not working well, and the waterway is too much scale or blocked, etc., which will lead to poor heat dissipation of the diesel engine and abnormal oil consumption.

5. The blockage of the air filter will reduce the intake pressure of the combustion chamber, the negative pressure will be too large, and the oil will run up the combustion chamber, resulting in a sharp increase in oil consumption.

6. Other reasons. Including: piston strain, ablation of connecting rod bush and crank bush; damage and failure of valve guide sealing ring; oil leakage.
